History

Most uniform items the members of the DJ (Deutsches Jungvolk, German Youngsters) wore were the same that were worn by Hitler Youth members. A few items, however, were specifically designed for members of the DJ.

The uniform of the German Youngsters was first regulated on November 10, 1934.

During the winter months (October 15 to April 14), members of the DJ wore a dark blue jacket. It is of pull-over style with a broad lay-down collar, an open front at the neck, and four buttons. The jacket has two pleated breast pockets with a buttoned flap. There are two cuff buttons. At the neck, it has a cloth strap for closing with a button on each side.
