History

Collar tabs were not worn in the HJ. The only exception was the Reich Youth Leader, which, initially, was Baldur von Schirach, and after him Artur Axmann.

Axmann, who took over von Schirach’s role in 1940, wore a different design than his predecessor. His collar tabs showed a mirrored image of three oak leaves in an open laurel leaf wreath. Embroidery and piping were gold-coloured, whereas the tabs themselves were black. In that, the tabs were similar to those of the leader of the SS, Heinrich Himmler, except that he wore silver on black.
