History

The so-called Swallow’s Nests are cloth insignia to be worn on the upper arms, just below the shoulders. They were worn by the musicians, but only when they were performing.

Swallow’s Nests of the National Political Institutes of Education (NPEA) were the same as those of the General HJ, but with a backing in the respective school colour, and silver tress in the SA pattern.
