History

The Badge of SA Meeting Brunswick was instituted in commemoration of the 1931 Brunswick Rally, at which around 104, 000 members of the SA, SS, Hitler Youth and NSKK participated in the mobilisation of Brunswick’s Nazi Strength. Brunswick was the only German state, in which members of the NSDAP held office and were allowed to publically wear their uniforms. The parade occurred on October 17th and 18th and lasted for around six hours, during which time 2 people were killed and 50-60 people were wounded.

There are two versions of the badge, the first being slightly less oval than the second version. The second version comes in a variety of colours, including silver, grey and light brown. Some versions of the badge have solid backs, others have hollow backs.

The Badge became an official party decoration on November 6, 1936, making it the third award recognised by the Nazi government.

The badge was only available for purchase and wear by official Nazi Party members who had participated in the mass rally.
