History

The Badge for the Care of Horses was established by the German National Federation for the Breeding and Testing of Thoroughbreds in 1937 and it was conferred upon individuals who rendered long and faithful service in horse care.

In order to receive the Silver Badge, a recipient had to meet the following requirements: at least 15 years of employment at a stable or in another equestrian related business, 10 first place awards at horse shows, at least 30 first place awards in races or tournaments, and commendations for exceptional care and grooming at 10 stallion or remount markets (for breeders).

If the recipient had already received the Bronze Badge, they could be upgraded to the Silver Badge for the improvement of breeding stock.
