History

The War Cross was donated by the "Ehrenbund deutscher Weltkriegsteilnehmer e.V." in Munich. To acquire the Cross of Honor, one had to join the association as a member. This announced to the award:

Entitled to carry were all German soldiers who had participated in the World War and belonged to the "Ehrenbund deutscher Weltkriegspartner e.V.". The front fighters got on request the cross with applied swords. The Cross of Honor was awarded with a certificate and was chargeable.

The single class award has the shape of a Maltese cross. The obverse has in the center the imperial imperial eagle with crown framed by a narrow oak leaf wreath. The shield infront of the eagle is black/white/red enamelled. On the two horizontal cross arms are the inscriptions 1914 (left) and 1918 (right).

At the fighter crosses are two crossed swords placed above, below the bearing ring.

The reverse shows the inscription "EHRENBUND DEUTSCH. WELTKRIEGSTEILNEHMER - E.V." ("Ehrenbund German World War II participant") framed by an oak leaf wreath

The award was worn on the left chest, on black/white/red ribbon.
