History

The Exemplary Soldier Badge was established by the Polish People's Republic in 1958 but was later discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989.

There are four versions of the II Class Badge that differ slightly in design. The second version features laurel on the helmet design, the third version features a number on the obverse, and the fourth version is reduced in size. All four versions feature an obverse inscription that translates to "Exemplary Soldier."
