History

The Kuwait Liberation Medal was established by Amir 'Isa in 1991 to reward Bahraini military participation in the Second Gulf War. The Medal may also have been awarded to British troops who served in Bahrain, however, it is uncertain if the Medal was authorized for wear.

The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful" and "Liberation of Kuwait 12 Sha'aban 1311 A.H. 26 February 1991 C.E." The reverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "Liberation of Kuwait."
