History


The Order of Labour was instituted in 1966 by Governmental Law. The Order is conferred in 3 classes to Egyptian subjects in recognition of significant contributions to Egyptian industry and economy. Contributions to Egyptian scientific advancement is also eligible for the award.

The II Class is worn from a breast ribbon which is adorned with a rosette. The II Class also features an obverse Arabic inscription which translates to "Labour."

Members of the Order also receive a tax-free monetary award.
