History

The Military Veteran's (Bazneshastehgi) Decoration was issued during the Pahlavi era and awarded to Officers and other enlisted personnel of the Iranian Armed Forces upon honourable discharge or retirement from active service. The Decoration was awarded in 4 Classes according to military rank. Military personnel from any branch of service were eligible for the award. There is also a separate Veteran's Decoration that was awarded to members of the Imperial Iranian Police Force (see IRN***).

Generals and admirals of the Iranian Armed Forces were eligible for the I Class Decoration. The I Class Decoration is composed of gold.
