History

The Police Veteran's (Bazneshastehgi) Award was issued during the Pahlavi era and awarded to Officers and other ranks of the Imperial Iranian Police Force upon retirement from honourable service. The award was presented as a Decoration in 4 Classes to Officers in good standing and as a Medal in 3 Classes to service personnel. The Class of the award is dependant on the rank of the recipient. The Police Veteran's Award is similar in design and function to the Military Veteran's Decoration (see IRN***).

Low ranking officers of the Imperial Iranian Police Force were eligible for the IV Class Decoration.

The IV Class Decoration features a Persian inscription on the obverse which translates to "An Officer Who Has Devoted His Powers to Serving in the Country."
