History

The Rastakhiz, or Resurgence, Medal is believed to have been established to commemorate the Iranian led opposition and thwarting of a communist Soviet takeover of Iran following the Second World War. It is thought that the Medal was awarded in 3 Classes to both civilians and members of the Armed Forces, including the Imperial Iranian Police Force.

The II Class Medal is composed of silver and is believed to feature a 2-leafed emblem authorized for wear on the ribbon.

The Medal also has an associated badge and both are commonly seen on the uniforms of Officers of the Imperial Iranian Police Force.

There may be an additional Class of the Medal along with additional versions which vary by composition.

The Medal may have also been worn from multiple ribbon patterns, but more research is needed.
