History

The Sporting (Tarbiyat Badani) Award was established in 1952 to reward Iranian national champions for sporting achievements. The Award was presented as a Decoration in 2 Classes and as a Medal in 3 Classes. Following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Award was abolished.

National champions who have scored in the top 3 ranks in intentional sporting competitions, as well as Olympiads, are eligible for the I Class Decoration. Personnel who were honoured with the II Class Decoration and provided 5 years or more of exemplary service, who have 18 years of continuous and commendable service, who are high ranking local and international officials who have provided notable service which advances sporting advancements, or who have made significant donations towards the constructions of sporting arenas are also eligible for the award.

The I Class Decoration had a contingent of 3 members.

The I Class Decoration features a ribbon rosette and a Persian inscription on the reverse which translates to "Anjoman Melli Tarbiyat Badani" (The National Iranian Association for Sports Training) and well as the Persian date "1330 HS" (1952).
