History

The Sporting (Tarbiyat Badani) Award was established in 1952 to reward Iranian national champions for sporting achievements. The Award was presented as a Decoration in 2 Classes and as a Medal in 3 Classes. Following the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Award was abolished.

National champions who have scored in the top 3 ranks in intentional sporting competitions, as well as Olympiads, are eligible for the II Class Decoration. Personnel who were honoured with the I Class Medal for 5 years or more, who have 15 years of continuous and exemplary service which advances the cause of sports, who are high ranking local and international officials who have provided substantial contributions to the advancement of sports in Iran, or who have made significant contributions towards the development of sporting arenas are also eligible for the award.

The II Class Decoration had a contingent of 5 members.

The II Class Decoration features a Persian inscription on the reverse which translates to "Anjoman Melli Tarbiyat Badani" (The National Iranian Association for Sports Training) and well as the Persian date "1330 HS" (1952).
