History

The Order of Sciences (Nishan-i-Danesh) is believed to have been created by HIM Muhammad Reza Shah to reward scholars and scientists for distinguished meritorious service. It is thought that the Order was awarded in recognition of scientific and technological advances in the military or other related fields.

The Order was presented in 2 Classes. There may have been an additional Third Class, but more information is needed.

The I Class Decoration features a gold wreath emblem authorized for wear on the ribbon.

There may be additional versions which differ by composition.
