History

The Order of Faisal I (Wisam al-Faisal al-Awwal) was established by King Faisal I in 1932 or 1944.

The Order was conferred in 3 Classes upon both civil and military personnel in recognition of exceptional and meritorious services provided to the King and Kingdom.

There may be an additional Class, but more information is needed. The Order was made obsolete in 1958 upon the fall of the Hashemite Kingdom.

The Grand Cordon was presented as the highest Class of the Order. It is uncertain if the Grand Cordon is worn from a sash. More research is needed.
