History

The Order of Labour (Wissam al-'Amal) was instituted c.1970 and presented to members of the Ba'ath Party in recognition of specifically meritorious service provided to the Party. The Order was amended and renamed the "Medal of Work" (see IRQ135) in 1970 or 1975.

The Order features an Arabic inscription on the obverse which translates to "Order of Work One Arab Nation and One Aim", as well as on the reverse which translates to "The Iraqi Republic."

There are multiple versions which vary by composition. There may be additional versions which are not featured here.
