History

The Fighting Force Medal was issued by the Association of Etzel, or Irgun, Soldiers. The Etzel organization, also known as, The National Military Organization in the Land of Israel, was a Zionist paramilitary organization who operated in Mandate Palestine between 1931 and 1948.

It is believed that a small ribbon device is authorized for wear on the ribbon in recognition of wounded recipients.
