History

The Jordanian award for Administrative and Technical Competence (Midalat al-Qatawat al-Idariya) was originally instituted by King Hussein in October of 1976 as a streamer for attachment to a unit's regimental flag to reward unit achievement in maintaining a high level of administrative and technical competence. Recipients of the award were also entitled to wear a ribbon. A Medal was later authorized to reward Administrative and Technical Competence in 1986.

There may be additional versions of the Medal which vary by size or composition.
