History


The Air Falcon Medal was established by King Faisal ibn Abdulaziz by Decisions of the Council of Ministers on March 20, 1971. The Medal is issued in 3 Grades to military personnel of the Saudi Arabian Air Force in recognition of outstanding bravery in combat and other brave services and significant accomplishments. The Medal may also be awarded for exemplary missions during military operations, for the maintenance of security and public safety, for exemplary service in support of land forces, and for the destruction of an enemy aircraft or the salvage of aircrafts damaged in combat. The Medal is awarded to Commanding Officers of bases after 5 years of service a as a base commander. Civilian and other military personnel who have made significant scientific and technological achievements may also be eligible for the award.

The II Class is awarded in silver to Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and technical civilians.

The Medal features an Arabic inscription on the obverse which translates to " Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Air Falcon."
