History

The Medal of Training (Wasim al-Tadrib) is awarded to Commanding Officers of the Syrian Armed Forces in recognition of the provision of exceptional training and a demonstrated high standard of conduct and behaviour over a period of 1 year or more. Saudi Arabian troops may also have been eligible for the award. The Medal may have been issued in 3 Classes to reward service in the land, sea, and air. However, more research is necessary.

A bronze oak leaf emblem is authorized for wear on the ribbon to denote additional awards.

The obverse features inscriptions in Arabic, translated as "To sweat in peace saves pain in war" and "Medal of Training".
