History

The Order of Turkmenistan Garabsyzlyk was instituted on the 10th anniversary of independence and was created to reward special professional achievements during the 10 years of the Turkmenistan Golden Age. The Order is conferred annually on Independence Day by the President in recognition of special merits in strengthening the independence of the nation, defence and national security, the rule of law, and international authority of Turkmenistan.

The Order is worn from a gold chain around the neck.

Recipients of the Order are also entitled to a one-time monetary award of US $1000 as well as a monthly supplement of 30 percent of the minimum wage.
