History

The Order of Merit is believed to be awarded to Yemeni civilians in recognition of meritorious service in the fields of art, literature, science, agriculture, industry, cooperation, and sport.

There may be multiple versions of the Order which are distinguished by design to denote service recognized, however, additional research is necessary to confirm.
