The Australian Cadet Forces Service Medal was introduced on 15 December 1999 and is awarded to Officers and Instructors in the Australian Defence Force Cadets for 15 years of meritorious service. Clasps are issued for every 5 additional years of service.

The obverse of the medal features the emblem of the Cadet Forces that is no longer in use today. The emblem is encircled by the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN CADET FORCES SERVICE MEDAL’. The reverse of the medal depicts the Federation Star with a blank rectangular panel superimposed over it. The blank panel may be engraved with the name of the recipient. The crown of Saint Edward is surmounted on the medal.
