History

The Civil Service Medal was instituted by the President of Fiji, Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, by the Honours and Awards Acton March 8, 1995. The Fiji Honours System was established to promote national unity and to celebrate outstanding contributions made in service of the State.

The Medal rewards distinguished and outstanding duty. Recipients are entitled to the post-nominal letters CSM.
