The President’s Cross was instituted by the President of Fiji, Ratu Josefa Iloilovatu Uluivuda, by the Honours and Awards Act on March 8, 1995. The Fiji Honours System was established to promote national unity and to celebrate outstanding contributions made in service of the State.
Clasps are awarded for subsequent awards, and it may be awarded posthumously. Recipients are entitled to the post-nominal letters PC.
