History

The Royal New Zealand Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was established by Queen Elizabeth II, Queen of New Zealand by Royal Warrant on May 6, 1985. It was established to replace the British Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. It is awarded to any non-commissioned air force personnel who have served 15 years since 1977.

Clasps are awarded for each additional 15 years served. For each clasp, a silver rosette is added to the ribbon when worn alone.

The Silver Medal features the recipient’s name engraved on the rim.
