History

This medal was conferred upon military and police personnel of the Royal Sierra Leone Military Forces, Sierra Leone Naval Volunteer Force and the Police Force in recognition of service on April 27, 1961. Also conferred upon the UK Land Forces who seconded the Royal Sierra Leone Military Forces.

The reverse features an inscription.
