History

The Medal of the Honorable Argentinian Congress for Those Who Fought (La Medalla del Honorable Congreso de la Nación a los Combatientes) was established by the Argentinian congress on October 31, 1984. It was awarded to those, Argentinian military personnel and citizens, who fought against British forces at the Falklands War (Guerra de las Malvinas), at Falkland, South Georgia, and South Sandwich Islands during April 2 to June 14, 1982.

The Medal was awarded to military personnel of all branches of the Argentinian Army, veterans, and the families of those who were killed in action.

This Medal features an obverse inscription with the details of the issue and the recipient, and a reverse inscription that translates to "The Honourable Argentinian Congress for Those Who Fought."

This Medal has been awarded to 23.000 recipients approximately.

There are known many versions that differ in the details of the inscriptions, and many of them were hand-engraver made.
