History


The Military Long Service Medal was established in 1901 to recognize Brazilian Air Force, Army and Navy personnel who have served with merit and loyalty top Brazil.

The Medal was authorized with three grades according with the number of years of service. The Gold Medal was awarded for thirty or more years of service, the Silver Medal for twenty years, and the Bronze Medal for ten years.

The ribbon has three equal stripes, green, yellow and green, and is edged with yellow. The ribbon associated with this medal may have a clasp of stars, each star represents 10 years of service.
