Physical Description

The Medal consists of a ball-tipped five-pointed star with multiple rays in each quadrant, the obverse centre features an enameled Chilean coat of arms.

History

The Service Medal of the Ministry of National Defense is awarded to civilians and military personnel who have served for more than 2 years to the Ministry of National Defense of Chile depending on the rank of the recipient. High ranks within the Ministry have right to this decoration for their position.

The Medal was authorized with two grades that are awarded by ranks.

The Medal is suspended by a solid blue Knight ribbon.
