Physical Description

It is a five-pointed gilt star with 5 rays in the angles. It has an enameled central medallion in both obverse and reverse. The obverse depicts an enameled blue and red "DC" (Defensa Civil).

History

The Chilean Civil Defense was created on July 14, 1947. It is a gubernatorial institution that provides and coordinates actions to help victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters.
