History

The Star for Ancachs (Estrella de Ancachs) was authorized by the Chilean government to reward military personnel who took part of Battel of Yungay along the Ancash River.

The Star was authorized in Gold and Silver. The Gold Star was awarded to Officers and high ranks, while the Silver Star was for enlisted men.

There are known several variants of this Star that slightly differ in inscriptions and design.
