History

The Medal for Bravery at the Battle of Curupaity (Medalla al Valor de la Batalla de Curupaity) was established in Argentina to reward to President Bartolomé Mitre and his army, who fought against to Paraguayan forces at the Paraguayan fortress of Curupaity. In spite of the lost of the Argentinian troops, the government of Argentina authorized the Curupaity Medal in recognition of the bravery shown in the frontal attack to Paraguayan army.
