History

The Medal for the Peru-Bolivian Confederation (Medalla por la Confederación entre Perú y Bolivia) was established by the Bolivian government in recognition of the military personnel who fought at the battles of Yanacocha and Socabaya; these engagements were decisive to the establishment
of the Confederation between Peru and Bolivia.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "You Gave us Glory and Peace 1838," and a reverse inscription that translates to "To the Winners of Yanacocha and Socabaya, Pacifier of Paucarpata, We are the Hearth of Potosí."
