The Great Bolivian Order for Education (Gran Orden Boliviana de Educación) was established by the government of Bolivia on October 9, 1951. It is awarded in recognition of Bolivian and foreign institutions, citizens, educators, teachers, researchers and intellectuals, who consistently have contributed to the cultural and educational development of Bolivia. This Order succeeded the Order of Merit for Teachers instituted on September 17, 1937.
The Order is composed of three different branches. Each branch was regulated differently. In MedalBook, the Order is classified into types according with its branches. Type I corresponds to the Great Bolivian Order for Education, Type II includes the National Order of Physical Education, and Type III consists of the National Order of the Khantuta Flower.
In Type III, the National Order of the Khantuta Flower consists of three grades: First Cycle, Second Cycle and General Distinction.
The Second Cycle is conferred upon the best students of high school in public or private schools.
The Order features an obverse inscription that translates to "Ministry of National Education Khantuta Flower Stimulus to Merit," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Bolivian Order Constancy, Work and Study."
