The Military Order of General José Antonio Páez was created in Venezuela in 1969, in recognition of long and meritorious service within the National Armed Forces of Venezuela. It may also be awarded to encourage military virtues and excellence within the careers of military Officers.

The Order is composed by three grades: I Class Gold Badge, II Class Silver Badge, and III Class Bronze Badge. The Order has no breast star.

The I Class Gold Badge is awarded for 30 years of service. The II Class Silver Badge is awarded for 20 years of service, and III Class Bronze badge for 10 years of service. The Order has no motto.

José Antonio Páez (1790–1873) was a Venezuelan military leader who fought against the Spanish crown along with Simón Bolívar during the Venezuelan War of Independence. Years later, he led Venezuela's independence from Gran Colombia.
