The Order of Merit of Ezequiel Zamora was instituted in Codejes, Venezuela in 2006, and it is conferred upon Venezuelans, institutions, and organizations that are responsible for agriculture practices.
The Order consists of a unique class that recognizes their significant contributions within the promotion, development, and protection of agriculture practices, animal husbandry, fisheries and forestry, as well as the spread of this agricultural knowledge and the support of social justice within these fields.
Ezequiel Zamora (1817–1860) was a Venezuelan soldier, and military leader of the Federalists during the Federal War of 1859-1863.
