The Order of the Star of Carabobo was established in Venezuela in 1995, in recognition of distinguished service during the performance of their duties to members of the Venezuelan Army, civilians, and other branches of the Venezuelan Armed Forces.

The Order consists of a unique grade, and has no star.

The Battle of Carabobo was an engagement between ndependence fighters, led by Venezuelan General Simón Bolívar, and the Royalist forces, led by Spanish Field Marshal Miguel de la Torre on 24 June 1821, This was a decisive victory fought between of Bolívar's troops to reach the independence of Venezuela and establishment of the Republic of Gran Colombia.
