History


Created as testimony of gratitude and faithful, the Order of St Mary Magdalen (l’Ordre de Sainte-Marie-Magdeleine) was established by Emperor Faustin I on March 31, 1856. It was awarded to recognize military and civil excellence, zeal, and virtue.

The Order's grades consisted Grand Collar for the Order's Grand Master, Grand Cross limited to 40 recipients, Commander limited to 120, and Knight.

This Order was abolished in 1859.
