History

This medal is conferred upon members of the Canadian Armed Forces for service in extraordinary situations.

The ribbon may be decorated with clasps reading, "PAKISTAN 1989-90", "PEACE - PAIX", "ALERT", "NATO + OTAN", "HUMANITAS", "JUGOSLAVIJA", "RANGER", "EXPEDITION".
