History


The Cross for Heroic Valor (Cruz al Valor Heroico) was instituted in Mexico by General Joaquín Amaro Domínguez, then secretary of war of the the revolutionary government of Mexico, on March 11, 1926. It was founded to reward the military personnel in recognition of heroic valor displaying in combat.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that translates to "Heroic Valor [Class]," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Created by Law on March 11, 1926."
