History

The Cross for Campeche (Cruz de Campeche) was authorized in Mexico on August 28, 1840, to reward Generals, Chiefs, and Officers who defended the city of Campeche against federalists attacks from Yucatan and Tabasco in 1839.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To Courage and Constancy in Campeche."
