The Cross for El Molino del Rey (Cruz de El Molino del Rey) was authorized in Mexico in recognition of the heroic actions of the Mexican army at the battle of El Molino del Rey against an invading American army advancing through Mexico City in 1847.
The Cross could be awarded posthumously.
The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "The Fatherland in Molino del Rey," and a reverse inscription that can be translated to "The Fatherland to Merit in 1847."
