History

The Cross for Tabasco (Cruz de Tabasco) was authorized by decree on August 28, 1840. It was founded to reward Generals, Chiefs, and Officers, who defeated the revolutionary forces from Tabasco and Yucatan provinces in 1840.

The Cross features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "To Courage and Constancy in Tabasco."
