History

The Cross for Toluca (Cruz de Toluca) was authorized by the imperial regency of the first Mexican empire in 1821. It was awarded to the Mexican revolutionary fighters who participated in the defense of La Huerta, Toluca on June 19, 1821, where the Spanish royalist forces were severely defeated.
