History

The Medal for Chapultepec (Medalla por Chapultepec) was authorized in Mexico in recognition of the enlisted men who participated in the defense of Castle of Chapultepec against an invading American army that advanced through Mexico City in 1847.

The Medal was awarded posthumously.
