History

The Medal for Churubusco (Medalla de Churubusco) was authorized in Mexico in 1847, in recognition of the troops under General Pedro Anaya who defended the village and convent of Churubusco from an invading American army in 1847.

The Medal features an obverse inscription that can be translated to "He Fought in Defense of the Fatherland."
