The Order of St. Christopher and Nevis was instituted in 2005 to recognise visiting Heads of State and representatives of Nations who have made significant contributions to the country and its development. It is the 4th highest National Honour.
Recipients of the Order are entitled to use the post-nominal letters “SCN”.
Despite seceding in 1983, Saint Kitts and Nevis remains a part of the Commonwealth; therefore Her Majesty the Queen acts as Grand Master of the Order. The National Honours System is overseen by the Governor General, who is responsible for conferring the Medal.
