The Bronze Medal was awarded to United States Army personnel in recognition of service in the Philippine-American War. To be eligible for the award, service personnel must have enlisted in the Army between April 21 and October 26, 1898, served beyond the date they were eligible for discharge and were ashore the Philippine Islands between February 4, 1899, and July 4, 1902, and received an honourable discharge. Approximately 6,500 Medals were issued.
